Captain Deb Marlor is an ideal guide for your sailing journey. As a USCG Licensed Captain with over 32,000 nautical miles of experience, living on the water traveling the sea for over 13 years Deb has an intimate knowledge of the Windward Islands, having spent over two years sailing these waters.
Deb’s unique training as a Business Professional, a Certified Life and Leadership Coach allows her to not only teach sailing techniques but also to mentor you in building confidence, overcoming challenges, and navigating both the waters and your life’s goals.
Whether you’re building your skills as a beginner or looking to refine your cruising abilities, this retreat offers a hands-on, supportive, and enriching environment to get the most out of your sailing experience.
Captain Deb will introduce you to everything from the basics of sailing to more advanced techniques, preparing you for your own adventures on the water.
Captain Deb isn’t just a sailing expert – she’s your mentor for personal growth. With her unique background as a USCG Licensed Captain, Instructor Cruiser University and award winning Certified Life and Leadership Coach.

“At first, I was afraid… I was petrified. Gloria Gaynor’s anthem echoed in my head as I stepped into the unknown—embarking on the Women’s Sailing Retreat with Captain Deb. For over 12 years, I’d been sailing in the Caribbean on charters, but always as a supportive crew member, never the one in charge. This time was different. I was stepping out solo, with only my courage—and Captain Deb’s guidance—to keep me steady.
Determined to move forward, I put on my big girl panties and made a conscious choice: to stay positive and build my confidence. And what a week it turned out to be.
A Week of Firsts I maneuvered a 40’ boat—forward, in reverse, and even pulled off a 360-degree turn. Throughout the week, I took on more responsibilities—using weather and navigation apps to plan our course and make decisions, setting sails, and dropping anchor. With every task, my confidence grew.
By the end of the retreat, I wasn’t the same person who nervously stepped aboard. I was empowered, capable, and full of joy. Captain Deb’s personalized support transformed my mindset and gave me the confidence I’ll carry with me into all my future boating adventures.
