What Past Participants Say
Women come aboard for sailing instruction, but many leave with something even bigger: confidence, courage, and a new sense of what they are capable of.
“The personal instruction was exceptional. Docking was my highlight, along with driving the dinghy and being at the helm in strong winds and six-foot waves. These were all firsts for me, and I loved the way Deb let me learn.”
Robin Q., 2025 Participant
“Captain Deb’s Sailing Retreat was the perfect combination of sailing, learning, fun, and adventure. The teamwork was extraordinary, and the experience was absolutely worth it.”
Suzanne G., 2025 Participant
“Before this retreat, I had spent years sailing in the Caribbean as supportive crew, but never as the one in charge. With Captain Deb’s encouragement, I practiced docking, drove a dinghy for the first time, planned routes, set sails, and dropped anchor. By the end of the week, I felt empowered, capable, and full of joy.”
Robin Q., 2025 Participant

Bring comfortable lightweight clothing, non-marking shoes, sun protection, swimwear, personal toiletries, any needed medications, and a sense of curiosity and adventure. A detailed packing list can be provided before the retreat. - Is this retreat physically demanding?
You do not need to be an athlete, but you should be comfortable moving around a boat, stepping on and off the vessel, participating in light hands-on sailing tasks, and being outside in warm Caribbean conditions. - What if I’m nervous about sailing or being on a boat?
That is completely normal. Captain Deb creates a supportive environment where questions are welcome, skills are introduced step by step, and each participant is encouraged to grow at her own pace. - Do you have to share a room/salon?
