The US Boat Show – Annapolis is the largest sailboat show in the United States.
You have a dream, a goal, objective to purchase a sailboat, sell, upgrade, charter or just gather information.
The way to get the most out of this show is to be clear of your goals for the show. Be thoughtful, and plan, this could make the largest investment of your life.
If you are new to sailing and boating this show is at best “overwhelming”, the number of people on the docks, moving about many wondering aimlessly whiles others will be on a mission.
Annapolis is a small city with a dock specifically built to bring in sail boats, catamarans, vessels of all shapes and sizes. New and used. Absolutely magnificent sailing, cruising, and racing yachts.
First, why are you coming? What do you want to see? What manufacturers do you want to talk to and what vessels do you want to get on. So, as you begin to think about the why, then begin to make a list of what you want to see, who you want to talk with, and what boats you want to get on. There is nothing like the real thing. This show can sometimes have more than an hour wait in line, so if you can pre-register with an appointment ahead of the show do it.
If you are coming to the show for education, then get on the Cruiser University link and schedule your classes before they are sold out!
STOP – make your reservations for hotels before you go one step further.
There will be vendors for everything from education, gadgets, clothing, jewelry, chartering, equipment and more…
Every vendor will offer “boat show” pricing, usually their very best deal of the year. So, be prepared to spend money, prepare your lists, and do any preparation you can. Be on time for your appointments, there are clocks and schedules at this event.
Your will find the best of the best of all here in Annapolis including the infamous Painkillers… I would save these for the end of the day, if you are serious about big life decisions.
Be prepared for rain, wind, and weather, the show always goes on. Wear your walking shoes, and comfortable clothing to climb around while visiting these boats.
I have provided links and recommendations to truly make the most of this event.
